Introduction

Lee, Dongnyeong was an important historical figure. Mr. Lee served as the interim government provision assembly chairman and went on to build an overseas independence movement as an elder statesman of the interim government up until his death in 1940.

To applaud this noble spirit and iron will toward national freedom, Lee, Dongnyeong’s village house in Meokcheon-eup, his hometown, was opened for viewing on February 23rd of 2010.

At this memorial hall, visitors can see Mr. Lee’s writing and appearance through busts, memorial stones, and portraits while also examining the life and ideas of this master of the history of the independence movement. Visitors will be introduced to Mr. Lee as an educator, journalist, and pioneer for human rights through stories about Mr. Lee along with a chronicle of his life, allowing all who visit to get a peek at the thoughts and ideas behind the man.

Invaluable keepsakes have been put on display, including Mr. Lee’s own writing, letters written by Mr. Lee, interim governmental documents, portraits, and pictures, allowing all who enter to get a closer view of the man. Along with this, guests will be able to view videos showing the life of Mr. Lee and letters written to young children. Guests will allso be afforded the opportunity become members of the independence movement themselves and take memorable pictures in the Photo Zone.
