Introduction
This is an astronomy and science museum dedicated to Damheon Hong Dae-yong, a scholar of the Realist School of Confucianism in the late Joseon Dynasty. Hong is noted as the first scholar in Korea to present theories on natural current and the limitlessness of the universe.
The 4-story museum (3,443m²) built on a 14,204m² site was opened in July 2014, and it contains diverse exhibition halls including the Thematic Hall, Science History Hall, Science Experience Hall, Planetarium (15m) and Astronomical Observatory (main telescope: 800mm).
